  • Sales Period: From now until September 27th, 2024.
  • Travel Period: September 20th – 31st, 2024.
  • Mode of sales: all modes to issue tickets.
  • No-show = USD150 (Waived if cancelled at least 24hrs to flight).
  • Date change/Reissue fee = USD100. Fare difference shall apply.
  • Refund before departure: USD150
  • Refund after departure: Non-refundable.

When you arrive at Kigali International Airport

  1. Look out for the AFSA2024 banner throughout your arrival process.
  2. Pass through immigration:
    1. African passport holders do not need a visa.
    2. Non-African passport holders who needs visas may obtain them at the airport (USD 50), except if Rwanda has a visa waiver system in place e.g. African Union, CommonWealth and La francophonie.
    3. Please verify the visa requirements applicable for your country online via this link: Rwanda Immigration and Emigration Office.
  3. After immigration, move to the next areas for security screening and baggage pickup.
  4. After collecting your luggage, move to the person at the AFSA2024 conference banner.
  5. Please note that this arrival process will be in place for the two days prior to the start of AFSA2024 (Saturday, 21 September 2024 to Sunday 22 September 2024)
  6. If you arrive and do not see the AFSA2024 representative please call the numbers that were sent to you by email upon confirmation of your registration.

Hotel Transfers

Please verify with the hotel that you book with whether they have a transfer service available. Alternatively, two taxi service desks are present at the exit of the airport building : MOVE and ATAK taxis.

Transport in Kigali

In Kigali there are many options for getting around town on your own:

  • Register prior to arrival on the MOVE app (which works exactly like Uber) a rideshare service. MOVE is in partnership with VW Rwanda, safe and regulated.
  • Taxi cabs are labelled YEGOCabs and can be hailed in the street or call +250 787 877 379 to arrange a pickup. You can also download the YEGO app priot to your visit to Rwanda. YEGO cabs are regulated and safe.
