About AFSA2024
AFSA2024 is the inaugural conference of the African Forensic Sciences Academy (AFSA) and will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, where AFSA is registered.
The AFSA2024 international conference will bring together forensic science practitioners and stakeholders from across Africa and the globe, and will focus on the ecosystem of forensic science in Africa. Forensic science practitioners alone cannot address the forensic science challenges of Africa but are a key part of this ecosystem in Africa. To this end, the conference will address the different stakeholders involved in the forensic science ecosystem in Africa, their roles and interactions, collaboration, and intertwined activities.
To date, the forensic science ecosystem in Africa has not been mapped. This conference is viewed as pivotal to mapping what the forensic science ecosystem in Africa includes, and to obtain an overview of the contribution of key players in the justice systems of Africa. Stakeholders from many African countries and and our colleagues across the world are invited to participate in the process of forging solutions for forensic science challenges in Africa. African colleagues will share their successes and provide a basis for moving in the right direction in future. International colleagues will seed our thoughts, which we can use as a basis for innovative solutions to the challenges that we face to assist in the delivery of justice to the citizens of Africa.
AFSA is proud to co-host its inaugural conference with the Rwanda Forensic Institute (RFI) in Kigali, Rwanda.
