What currency is used in Rwanda?
Both US dollar (USD) or Rwanda Franc (RWF) can be used. Note when you shop at a local market or travel in local transportation RWF may be needed. There are many foreign exchanges throughout Kigali city. The major credit cards that are used in Rwanda are VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

What should be my preferred source of water in Kigali?
Although tap water is safe, it is recommended to drink bottled water.

Where can I dine at night during the conference?
At the Kigali Convention Centre there are three restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (please book in advance at hotel reception). In the Radison BLU hotel (25 steps from the KCC) there is also a cafe with coffee and light snacks.

What do I do in case of an emergency?
- 112 is the emergency number for Police
- 119 is the emergency number for an Ambulance
- You do not need to have “international roaming” activated on your mobile plan to dial these numbers.
- Note beforehand where in Kigali your country’s embassy or consulate is, and ensure that you know how to contact them.
