Dr. Miranda is Professor and Director of the Center for Criminal Justice Studies at Farmingdale State College (SUNY). She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Forensic Science Concentration, from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
Dr. Miranda is certified by the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC-GKE); is a Fellow of the Criminalistics Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences; and is also a Lifetime Member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Dr. Miranda has worked as a Criminalist in the Trace Evidence Analysis Unit of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) Police Lab, and as both a Medical Photographer and a Death Investigator
